Charlie,
Don't have that issue either, and the article won't come up on line.  The Data sheet for the IC comes up and there are example schematics.  I should be able to come up with something.  Thanks for the lead.

Awww man, I forgot about that. :-) It's been so long since I flew in the dark, I forgot that it could be done.

I'll check through Chuck's paperwork & see if there's a diagram for the display.

I'v seen that one Charlie. The only failure mode is dark, but that can be overcome by flash light.

A couple months ago in Kit Plane Magazine (I Think) had an article on how to make a LED flap position indicator.  If you have the schematic and parts list could you please post it or email me direct.  I thought that I has put the magazine back so it wouldn't get thrown out, but you know how that goes.

Haven't got the plans for that one, but I do have the ones for the failure-proof, zero weight, no panel space required Mk-1E indicator:

glance out the canopy. It works. Every time. I promise.

Seriously, my -4 has the unit you're talking about, & I didn't even realize it was there until a few months ago (I've had the plane 8 years).
