The app is Decibel by Gadget Frontier.  I do not remember the download info. I have no idea how accurate it is.  The only comparison is a little help screen that says a normal "quiet" bedroom is between 40 and 50 decibels.  My bedroom was at 46 with a quiet ceiling fan going (yeah, quiet bedroom.....poor, lonely Chris........NOT  ;-) )  The meter is saying.

Come on out to the hangar most any day after about 3:30 pm.  After being on evening shift for two years, I am on day shift for the next several months (at least that is what is planned).  So, in at 6:30, off at 3:00.  My cell is 832-818-CELL (2355).  I am in hangar Alpha Papa but I will have to let you in the gate.

All the best,

What iPhone app are you using to measure the db? I wonder how accurate it is. Chris, I need to stop down and see you and check out the plane. I am finishing up my private at Pearland in the next week or so. Have been putting off working on my plane while finishing up my license, but the rotary is on the stand and mocked up ready to bolt up to my Cozy.

Let me know when you might have some time or will be out at the hangar. Glad to hear you are having better luck these days. You sure went through some pains.

Have made some high power run ups to about 6300 rpm. The high power runs are brief due to it getting hot fast,ESP with 100degree+ ramp temps.  Did a decibel check last night at idle. About 83 at 50ish feet.  87 at 25ish feet. 92 at prop and 83 in cabin. I shudder at what it must have been before the turbo.   Tuning is improving as I improve my comfort zone with the ecu

Much work and time has been spent, but I think I just about have my engine install where I want it.  I took this video today with my new I-Phone.  The quality ok but much better than my old Motorola Cliq (what garbage).

Comments are welcome....well, uh....yeah, they are welcome. :-)
