Today I did the first test run with the complete engine, as it will go in the airplane, except for the cooling. All systems worked great until about 2minutes of 5000rpm, and oil started flying everywhere. The engine kept running as if nothing happened. After engine shut down, I found that the oil was coming mainly from the main seal at the flywheel. All warm-up run was fine without any oil coming out anywhere. After recalling everything I observed, including a couple of oil puffs coming from the exhaust prior to the oil spilling out, my conclusion was increasing pressure in the oil pan as the cause. Sure enough, the oil pan breather hose was clogged by a muddubber. No telling when that happened.

The engine is running extremely smooth. At 5000rpm and 4.6gal/h producing about 55hp. I had no time to read all parameters before shut down. I am using a 72" 3blade IVO prop. This makes it convenient changing the load for different test runs.
The new muffler seems to be a little quieter then the one on the previous engine, which some of you may remember from Shady Bend.
More data and pictures next week.

BTW, is anybody planing to go to Paducah in September?
