Come on you guys, I've yet to find a Yank who call tell the difference between a British, Kiwi or Australian accent - that's because we all speak English without some sort of American accent.
I remember I was in Washington with the Vietnam Vets ( ride to the Wall) in 2002 and was talking to the boys and one chap kept looking at me and finally he said "G.. Damn what part of the East Coast do you come from" In a strong Southern accent - needless to say I had Australia written all over my jacket,  I responded to him and said" I don't come from the East Coast I come from down south. He queried "G.. Damn - how far south!" It went on from there.
I got a thousand stories like that from all over the US, which I relate to fellow Aussies.

The gecko has a London accent, if I ever heard one.

I sure miss reading about his exploits...

Ah, yes, John.  We certainly envied you "Brits" with your Martin Baker seat
- not only for their gentler boost - but perhaps more so for their zero/zero
capability - we had the other two items already {:>)

Oh yeah! I remember that. It was the day before my [first] wedding. One of the guys asked the Sergent in charge "What's it going to feel like, Sarg?" The reply ... "Biggest kick in the ass you'll ever have, sir!". The RAF motto was "put your trust in God, your mother and Martin Baker, but not necessarily in that order." Thankfully I never got to pull that handle in anger - but I had my hands on it and muscles tensed a couple of times....
