I remember I was in Washington with the Vietnam Vets ( ride to the Wall) in 2002 and was talking to the boys and one chap kept looking at me and finally he said "G.. Damn what part of the East Coast do you come from" In a strong Southern accent - needless to say I had Australia written all over my jacket, I responded to him and said" I don't come from the East Coast I come from down south. He queried "G.. Damn - how far south!" It went on from there. I got a thousand stories like that from all over the US, which I relate to fellow Aussies.
