The keyway in the back of the engine (tranny side) lines up with TDC (not a timing mark) on the front pulley. Measure degrees from there and put your timing mark on the pulley if you don’t have one of the original type pulleys that only go on only one way (early engines, aftermarket, etc).

Subject: [FlyRotary] Help !!!

I made an error.  I removed the pulley from my eccentric shaft.  I turned the engine over with the electric starter just for testing. Then I noticed there are timing marks on the pulley. Was I smart enough to mark the shaft and pulley so I could put it back in the same position?  Of course not.   Is there a simple method of reinstalling the pulley so the timing marks are correct, or do I have to take the engine all apart to fix this? My luck says I probably have to do a complete tear-down to determine the pulley orientation.  Thanks for your replies and advice. Paul, the idiot Conner
