The SJ cowl is the one pictured in Dennis H’s. posts. No cheeks, just a large scoop underneath the prop.

Al,

My plan was to pull from the radiator scoop of the Sam james rotary cowl.  Do you think this area would be pressurized sufficiently at high speeds?  Any significant effect on radiator performance?

I know not of the Sam James cowl, or the diffuser shape, so I can’t be of any help.  I’d say the amount of induction air is a small fraction of the cooling flow required.
