Your right - it has a great following here. We are a small population so car numbers was never that great, however we have imported most of the motors second hand from Japan. I believe their all turbo type.
I think to myself sometimes, if only we had the motor numbers you have in the US, just for parts.
I came across a chap, at a gas station, who was travelleling back from a drag race meeting, near the airport where I fly. This chap has his own rotary engine business. I couldn't believe how small the engine looked in a drag style chassis. It was so simple clean and neat. Good sized turbo on it naturally. I think he said he was getting something 500 hp out of the 13B - massive.

Not sure I'd like this action in an aircraft, but it's wild...and the
flames
make you stop and think. Sounds like a jet engine on that much boost!
