You may be on to something here. If the arrows on the lines to the oil cooler are both pointed toward the cooler, that could explain why the tanks swelled up. ;-)

That may be the reason you were having some overheating problems. I think the arrows are supposed to align with the “holes”, not with the electrons. You may have everything flowing backwards! If you do it could cause the fuel to build up in the tanks and leak out the overflow!!!
