Concerning CAS signals and failure to start:
I've attached a plot of CAS signals and coil control signals just at the
point where the CAS is turning fast enough for the EC2 to start generating
sparks. To the left the CAS is turning too slow and to the right sparks are
being generated. It sure would be useful if those having ignition troubles
and suspecting CAS signal problems could record similar data. Unfortunately,
the equipment to do so may be prohibitively expensive. Doing so might help
determine if the problems are due to noise on the CAS signals or if the CAS
amplitude is insufficient. That might avoid a lot of wasted time and
speculation.
If I weren't so far away in the boonies of Wyoming, I would be more than
happy to collect this data for others. No permanent wiring changes are
required and the actual measurement just takes a few seconds.
