Thanks, George,

Sometimes I don’t explain things quit well and it never hurts to have another supporting reference {:>)

Thanks Ed,

I will read it , however your explanation seemed quite reasonable to me - it was just my lack of knowledge on the subject. Hopefully after reading these articles I will be "full bottle", however at the moment I back to shed construction - no rest around here.

George (down under)

George,

Below is a link to a reference (see page 8 of pdf) as to how the O2 sensor and the cars CPU interact and the important of the reaction time of the O2 sensor for controlling Air/Fuel ratio in the automobile.  It states that as the O2 sensor becomes more “sluggish” the function suffers.  So for auto use leaded fuel will limit the like (according to Bosch) to about 200hours.  But, since there is no indication it affects voltage output (only the response time), my take is that the wide band O2 is still viable as an A/F ratio gadget even in the presence of leaded gasoline.

The article talks about a device that would supposedly improve the process, but that it also describes how the O2 sensor acts in the car.  You might find it interesting
