I do not have the ammeter installed.  I have one ready, but it was wired up by my buddy David Staten and I am hoping he will come out to show me how to install it <g>.
 
As to the brushes, I am on my second set. The first set got pretty banged up just from general abuse of installing and removing them for various reasons.  I do think I am getting more than 15 hours though as they were replaced with my new engine BEFORE I had a plate fail forcing another tear down and build.  When I installed the new engine, I reset the Hobbs...which is currently on 19.5 hrs.  I will try to remember to check the condition of the brushes and report back.

Chris:  Are you using an ammeter to set you pitch by chance?  If so how much of load is on it at fine vs. coarse pitch settings?  Also have you had to change out your brushes yet?  I am hearing we should expect to get about 15 hrs. on them before needing to change them out and wondered if your ground testing had validated that number yet...
