The first bad news is that I replaced my remote oil filter mount and installed a new filter. As I have mentioned here I have had it leaking at the rubber filter seal. The old one looked ok, but since replacing the filters no less than three times and knowing that the eye cannot see all imperfections, I replaced the mount AND filter (K&N 2004 filter). But, NO JOY. It is still leaking where the filter mounts. It IS seeping from the filter seal and NOT the two hose connections...no doubt on this. I know the rotary's oil pressure is higher than other engines but I would not think it would be so much that it is overwhelming this standard mount and seal. This is just a standard screw on remote oil mount made out of AL...Made in the USA. Looks like many others I have seen. Y'all have any ideas.
I anxiously wait commentary and possible explanations from y'all. Upon my return to the hangar (today was MY Sunday) hopefully tomorrow night after work I will be looking at my, apparently piss poor, wiring.

The K&N filter for most of the remote filter stands is the HP-3001 and it replicates the above filters. The K&N or any of these should work on anything designed for the Fram PH8A. The universal (anything Ford) filter.
Originally developed for demanding race applications, our premium Performance Gold® Oil Filter is rapidly becoming a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. Most of our automotive and marine oil filters come with a 1” nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. To satisfy the demands of racers, our oil filter has many features over and above the requirements of most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The drilled hole on the nut provides for safety wire attachment. Our oil filters also use a resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration. [MORE] |

The WIX 51515 has a 350 pound burst can and I used it on the race car until I came across the K&N at 450 pound burst. WIX is available at any NAPA store.
Check to see if the rubber seal ring sits flat on the sealing face of the remote filter stand. Probably the filter end plate is tight against the stand before the gasket is properly clamped.
I use a double filter stand designed for the Fram PH-8A and use the K&N hp-3001 filters. Not a single problem in 10 years. I run 100 to 105 pounds of oil pressure.

I can wire a house, but that electronics stuff is black magic to me. No help there.
