The tower shouldn't have any problem with you doing a couple of fast taxis if things are slow. I did a lot of fast taxis in order to get a real good feel for the climb angle. I would accelerate up to the point where the nose wheel would lift off, then back off the throttle and hold it that attitude for a few seconds. It didn't take long and I had a real good image in my mind of what to expect on first flight. Just don't get carried away and run off the end of the runway.
