Well, it seems as if I am zeroing in on my electircal grimlins.  I few new crimps and better wire runs later.

The engine is starting up and running strong.  I should be installing a new remote oil mount to hopefully end the oil leak coming from the seal between the oil filter and mount.  I have already tried replacing the filter and the replacemnt mount arrived yesterday.  I cannot see any obvous iperfection on the old one, but the naked eye is not the best source.

That being said, there are a few issues I would like to run across y'all.

First, I have about 120 degree dfference between my front and my rear rotor via the EGT sensor.  The rear one (near the prop) is running hotter.  This seems to be one of those thngs I use to know...and what should do to remedy, but I can't wrap my head around it now.

Second, as I am switching toggles on and off in various configerations to see how different modes opperate, like turing off the primary injectors (which, as it has for others, doubles, give or take, my RPM reading), turning off the primary alternator (Z-14 drawing from Aeroelectric, duel alt/duel bat) etc all gives me continued smooth running, EXCEPT, I get a slight rumble/rough funning when I switch off my primary coils...thus running only on secondary.  I have checked the wires already (likely will do so again).   I do not think it is heat related as the cowl is not currently on and they are not that close to the cool side of the engine (are on opposite side from hot).

Finally, for now, I am having inconsistant top end power.  Seems as if most of the time I an get 6100 ish top static RPM.  I, like some other have reported, have a bit of extra throttle left when I seem to hit full power (meaning I am still able to open the the throttles butterfly more, but no more power.  When I go all the way forward, I get about 5900 - 6000, then I adjust the mixture to more rich and can usually increase the top end to 6050 to maybe 6200 rpm's.  However, some other times, even though more rare, I seem to only be able to get about 5800 to 5900 top end.  Not sure, if anything is being done different on my end.  Also, if I understand right, 6000 rpm statc is not too bad....or, maybe it is.

Thanks.

All the best,

Chris Barber
