Exhangers!
Here is what you need for a radiator -
really very interesting stuff. Apparently the claim is that these graphite
core heat exchangers can reject almost 3.5 times more heat as the
standard metal one of the same size.
Why do I get the
distinct impression that you guys think I'm crazy enough to try anything
:-)
Seriously, the
graphite radiator sounds promising. The airfoil shaped example will
appeal to the plastic plane guys, since they can just build their wings
out of it :-)
Rusty (Of course, I
was kidding about looking forward to fitting the cowl)
Now, you don't really want us to start enumerating
the reason why we might have that impression, do you, Rusty?

Read another article that indicates a couple of NASCAR
race teams are about to try out graphite radiators at the track. The
down side, from what I have read - the graphite foam is very, very
expensive at this point - so, not to hold your breath. But, I would imagine
that like most things that turn out to be a breakthrough - demand would
eventually lead to lower production costs.
Interesting just the same. Just think how much more
configuration freedom you would have if you could reduce the radiator sizes by
50% or more.
