Steve,
If you haven't bought the probes yet, ACS has EGT probes that come with bungs. Drilll holes where you want them, weld the bungs in place and screw the probes into the bungs. About as easy and straight forward as anything related to experimental a/c.

Hi Steve; I did this back in 2004, so I just included a link to my original post. http://lancaironline.net/lists/flyrotary/Message/8406.html?Language=
In order to drill through the manifold I had to use a grinder to cut a small flat spot and get through the surface hardening. Then it drilled easily. I tapped the holes and used a modified compression tube fitting (drilled out shoulder in fitting so 1/4" tube from TC could slide right through).
It works very well. Todd On Mon, 2009-09-07 at 09:10 -0400, Steve Brooks wrote:
I need some advice on adding EGT problems in my stock turbo manifold. I didn’t monitor EGT before, but now while adding the EM3, I want to add EGT. Is there a preferred location in the manifold to drill to install the probes, and also is it best to add a weld bung, or just tap the hole in the manifold, as it is fairly thick.
