Steve,
You need a probe for each rotor placed a reasonable
equal distance from the port. You are going to be looking for
changes/differences and not absolute temperatures. The method to attach
them will depend on the style of probe you feel will be best/easiest to
install. My probes attach with a compression fitting, so I had to
weld a bung. Try to get the tip of the probe in the center of the exhaust
tube.

Subject: [FlyRotary] EGT Probes
I
need some advice on adding EGT problems in my stock turbo manifold. I
didn’t monitor EGT before, but now while adding the EM3, I want to add
EGT. Is there a preferred location in the manifold to drill to install
the probes, and also is it best to add a weld bung, or just tap the hole in the
manifold, as it is fairly thick.

Steve
