The CNC machine shop that I've been using for many years is winding down operations so it looks like I'm going to have to gear up to do CNC in-house if I can't find another good source. There are lots of places to get prototypes done and many shops that will gladly do 1000 parts at a time but the ones that can do small batches economically (like 20 pieces at a time) are amazingly rare. The last batch of parts for gear drives is almost gone so it's crunch time. And I was hoping to simplify - sigh.... Even if I find another CNC shop it will take time to qualify them and get drawings verified so it looks like I'll have to skip having the Roundup here this year. LOE might be a good opportunity for the first fly-in appearance of the 20B RV-8. Gotta go look up the date for it.
