There should be numbers stamped on the top of the rotor housings on the side with the spark plugs, right next to the Mazda logo.  Of course, each housing will have its own number, but piston engines get that too for head / block, so I think it's something you can deal with.

Is this not true of all year housings?

And bonded it to the small flat area on top of the engine, just above the primary injector ports on the center iron. I had a local shop engrave the information into the aluminum (they want it 'permanent' in case you burn it up).

On the Affidavit of Ownership Form AC FORM 8050-88, it ask for SN of engine.  This engine was built by Atkins from new parts and I don't see any SN on the bill or the engine, how are you folks addressing this on the form.  Non certified aircraft engines have the tag removed, so there is no serial number on those either.  JohnD
