Hi Marc,
Well, given the number of older 13Bs out there, if you look hard enough, you
can find them at very reasonable prices. But, even though I have an older
13B, if I were doing it today, I would go with the recent Renesis 13B.
Costs are very reasonable and parts are available.
If going with the older 13B, you can rebuild them yourself for around $2000
depending on what is reusable. So I think the well is far from dry.
Besides, if the 16X ever becomes a production item, then I will be switching
to it.

authorized sub
Seen on another list......is the well running dry? Can't be any worse than
the Corvair engine guys!
"
Both Ray @ Malloy Mazda, and Ivan here at Lozanos in Sunnyvale, have
confirmed that Mazda North America is all out of reman 13Bs. Apparently
they're done. Ouch.
Found one leftover at a dealership Ivan knows on the east coast. We'll see
if it's any good. Ivan tells me Mazda had subcontracted the work for the
last several years, and quality had become inconsistent. Fortunately he also
says he can usually tell a bad rebuild from a good one on inspection. So
here's hoping!"
