Mike, for what its worth, I use the earl's filter (blue with An-6 fitting on
each end with a fine wire mesh around 3 -3 1/2" long barrel shaped body.
I've used it for 10 years and early occasionally found a chunk of debris -
nothing close to impeding fuel flow, but enough to show it was doing the job
of keeping the big junk out of the pumps.

They arent the Earls filters but they are a similar type filter. I cant
remember where I got them. The 300 GPH probably came from the marketing
department rather than engineering. I have not tested them myself. As of
this point they seem to do the job and I havent noted any fuel flow issues
at max power.
What brand of filter are you using now? do they have -6 fittings or hose
barbs?
I flushed out all the hoses after assembly and then blem them out with
compressed air. Anyone else using Earls hoses and if so, any problems with
ethanol?
I see Earls has a new teflon lined kevlar jacketed hose that is considerably
lighter than their standard hose and more flexible as well. Pricey though!
