Could those in the know  please elaborate on the "potential corrosion" aspect of the aluminum components. My tank is aluminum and I would rather not have to coat its interior with any kind of goo that could later prove to be an issue. I welded it up out of 5052 as I figured this was the best solution and it would be unafected by fuel and alcohol problems that so seem to plague the composite tanks.
Here in Maine we seem to follow so much of California' s failed policies and thus all auto fuel has at least 10% ethanol

Well things seem a little slow today so how about re-opening a can of worms? We had a brief discussion a while back regarding ethanol in fuel. Frankly at the time I didnt know much about the subject but have been reading a little since I'm burning auto fuel.

Looks like the concerns are:
1) Vapor lock
2) Potential corrosion of aluminum components in the fuel system.
3) Deterioration of rubber (and other?) components in the fuel system.
4) Water.
5) Dislodging contaminants from previously used fuels.
