Thanks Tracy...

I figure what ever I can do to help reduce wear and friction. Although the syn oil is much more expensive.

I'm not an oil expert but my limited research did reveal that the shear strength of synthetics was better so that is what I recommend for the sake of the gear drive which is using the engines oil system.   That is especially important to the gear drive with all those helical gear meshing surfaces.

In my 40+ years of driving (all used cars) & flying I have never worn out an engine on any of them.  Not sure what that means.  Need to fly more?

Yes, per the Amsoil site, the tests show that it is better than Mobile 1 in almost every category by just a bit. My local Napa auto parts store stocks the Amsoil, but I guess I need to get their oil filter as well to get the better filtration. Pretty interesting. I will probably run it when I run my engine on the test stand as the plane isn't quite ready for the engine and I want to do some testing.

David, Mobil ! was a good choice, but not the best.  In independent tests, Amsoil has much better wear protection.

David,
I've used Mobil 1 after the first 10 hours.
It seems to work well with the RWS redrive.

Wondering what oil every one is running? I have been running Amsoil Fully Synthetic Oil in my vehicles and it has a life of 25,000 miles or 1 year. Has any one used this?
