Amsoil has a state of the art oil analyizing facility. They find that if the oil is filtered properly the oil will last almost indeffinately. Over the road use of up to 40,000 miles between bypass oil filter changes, and over 300,000 on the oil proves the life of the oil. Only reason in this case the oil was changed the truck was sold, dealer tore it down and found that all the parts were usable, with nearly a million on it.
