Bill;
The current issue of Contact! magazine has an article
regarding serious damage to the epoxy fuel tanks on a KIS that the author (Larry
David) concluded was the result of using 10% ethanol fuel. He didn’t
specify what type of epoxy was used, and his response to my e-mail to him was
that he did not build the plane and didn’t know what epoxy was specified
for the KIS.
It is of interest since Chris, our rotary powered Velocity friend,
had a similar nightmare with his fuel tanks. Thought maybe you’d
know. In Chris’s case it was Jeffco coating over EZ-poxy that
peeled off. In this case it was ‘whatever’ epoxy coating over
‘whatever’ epoxy; and the fillets under the coating, and the wing spar
were also damaged. Perhaps you are familiar with the case.
