However, my experience is that fuel lube will eventually wash away – not immediately, but eventually.  But, perhaps the stuff I used was not the same as you used.

for builders and those who can readily access their fuel valves, a thought would be to prelube the fuel valves with fuel lube which is required by AD on Piper aircraft.  ACS has EZ turn lubricant, which is advertised as an equivalent to fuel lube.  These lubes are not washed away by gasoline or alcohol, as I was unaware that Michigan had done away with labeling on the gas pumps, I burned gasohol for years and the Piper fuel valve never leaked.  JohnD
