Hi Jarrett,
Thanks for bringing that up – I no
longer fly at night, so have not given it a lot of thought. But, to
answer you question the LEDs are not dimmable at this time. However, the
photos overemphasize their brilliance, you can barely see them in day light. I
have attached a photo that shows the LEDs as they appear to the eye – I guess
I have the camera setting incorrect on some of the other photos – which causes
them to bloom.
However, There are some automatic
dimming sensors that I will look into – it might provide and acceptable
solution without much changes to the circuits.
Now, I do have one Red LED that is designed
to get your attention - it flashes whenever an alarm (low fuel, switch
tanks) is triggered. You can immediately punch it off – but IT is
bright!! I’ve include a photo of it along with the green LEDs to
give you a comparison.

snazzy Ed! I do have a couple questions for you however. Are the green lights
dim-able? Or can you turn them off? Reason I ask is because we have a similar
type light on the A/c I fly [414A]. It's the control for the Autopilot to
switch from Nav1 to Nav 2. It's back lit and has about the same glow as your
green lights. In our case, the light is not dim-able [something to do w/ being
an LED] and so I have the pleasure of flying w/ a pc of masking tape over it
when flying at night.. if I don't... it's literally blinding.. and it's over at
the bottom of the panel, far right side.. [typically would shine on the
co-pilot's knee]..yet has the ability to be a real pain..
