Hey Monty;
Not sure what you mean below, but our situation is,
our Garrett Turbo is hanging too close to the bottom of the pan, in
order for it to fit in the cowling of the Legacy. Our solution is to
collect the oil from the turbo, and Tracy's redrive into a small tank, and then
hang a special scavenging pump to get the oil back in the system under
pressure. The pump we're using has been tested under race conditions, and
is very reliable, as well as simple. This means a combination of dry sump
and the stock oil system, it's pretty inexpensive, and solves a lot of problems
for me.

Subject: [FlyRotary] remote oil
tank
I recall a discussion a while ago about a
remote oil tank. I am as usual trying to put 10lbs of poo in a 5lb sack.
I don't want to use a dry sump for weight and complexity reasons. How far
below the oil pump inlet flange do you guys think I could locate the oil
level before I start to have problems with foaming.
Ed, how long is the pickup tube for your tank and
how far is the oil level below your pump inlet?
Thanks,
Monty
