  Given low cost availability of the ANL series limiters
  and in light of their VERY robust overcurrent carrying
  behavior, you'll want to size the limiter closer to the
  rated output of the alternator.  
 
Thanks for the follow-up John.  I guess I'm OK with 100A for the moment.  Bob is actually the one who referred me to the ANL-100 fuse, but I can't recall if I told him I wanted a 100A fuse, or if I said I wanted a fuse for a 100A alternator.
