That should change his mind. I would also be willing to fly down and give him a flight in my plane. I took a guy flying last week who was really impressed with how smooth is it. He should also change over to EFI. That would be a lot easier to do than swapping out the whole installation. My Flowmaster muffler has 100 hrs and is holding up well. Tracy's old spintech also held up fine. Dave Leonard On Sun, May 18, 2008 at 8:46 AM, Mike Wills wrote: > In the San Diego area there is Al Gietzen, Dave Leonard, Ryan S.

On the other hand Ryan is planning on replacing the rotary with a Subaru 6. I've been working on him to at least make an effort to resolve the issues he has before giving up. The E-Racer install is very crude. Biggest shortcomings are no muffler and the crude carb install which gives him erratic mixtures and high fuel consumption.

For some reason he has gotten the impression its impossible to install a muffler that will survive. What is the consensus choice on an off the shelf muffler these days? Has anyone tried Borla?

Great show, Mark! Liked the way it climbed out.  Yes, nothing like the $$ incentive to get the old dyed in the wool believers to switch to the rotary - try not to rub it in too much {:>)

Just got back from Mid-Atlantic Flyin where my rotary was very, very lonely {:>).  Seems like Texas is the current hot-bed of "successful" rotary activity.

If anyone is interested, I posted a video of my 3-rotor Lancair on Youtube.  I apologize in advance for the photography (my son-in-law took the video).  ;-)
And no, it isn't out of focus, it was 94* the day it was taken and what you're seeing is the heat coming off the runway.  Check it out at...
