Make a bushing of soft plastic tubing to fit inside two of the holes. Locate the bushings on diagonal corners so that all of the bolts stay centered in their holes. If a bolt touches the side of a hole it can be overstressed. You can also use a steel bushing and leave it long enough to pull out after all of the other bolts are tightened. Then remove those steel bushings and install the correct length bolts in the last two holes.

I'm finishing the plate between the sump and engine and the I've noticed the sump bolt holes are 8mm diameter for 6mm bolts which is rather large.  Is this to allow for heat expansion?  The standard clearance hole is 6.5mm and I'm wondering if I should use the 8mm hole size in the plate.
