Unfortunately, Richard, its not just the machine shops.  I am dismayed how frequently a store or service department fails to return a phone call these days- or fails to notify you if they are not going to make an appointment, etc.  Everyone seems to think their time is more important than yours.  I've always felt that if anyone wants my money - they should be the one standing in line - not me{:>)

I feel with you, John. I had been waiting for getting my single rotor balanced by that place in Phoenix for over 4 month. It finally came back, on my request, unbalanced. Now it starts all over again.
I don't know what the business world has come to.
Had at least two cases of sending out a request for quote to machine shops, and not even getting a rejection note.

These guys are not hungry enough yet.

It is still all quiet here and not to my liking.  I would love to make noise, but have been orphaned by Marcotte and unable to make contact with them.  I need the coupling bushings before engine start, have been trying to contact them for 7 weeks now.  JohnD
