Finn - Columbia Aeromotive  in Troutdale, OR has good old WWII vintage, asbestos laden firesleeve for sale cheap.  I have used a lot of it on my plane.

Hi Kevin!

If you're actually going to publish your journal in a newsletter, I better set the record straight:
The fire I had was caused by routing an unsheilded rubber oil line too close (3/4") to the exhaust pipe; in spite of the fact that Paul, Ed and Tracy would like you to beleive it was because of my "plastic" fuel lines.

Finn

Finn,  Actually, to set the record even straighter, we three knew the cause of your first fire - the oil line, no one I know never even hinted to anyone it was a fuel line fire.  However, I will admit, I am more concerned about the possible source of a second fire - the clear plastic fuel lines over your exhaust system.  But, you know the risks and it is apparently within you risk tolerance.

Sorry, forgot the :)

Hey, the lines are wrapped in alu foil where they are exposed above the exhaust pipe. Some day I'll upgrade to fire sleeve.
