I'm feeling sorry for Tracy & his RV-8 delays, so I thought
I'd distract
Rusty a bit.
No need. Rusty is
plenty distracted already...
I've become somewhat
obsessed with 4 rotor R/C helicopters, and various aerial video
cameras.
That leads to FPV (First
Person Video) where you fly the model via video goggles as if you were in
it. This was my first full takeoff to landing FPV flight. Not
real exciting video, but the concept is cool.
The next step is adding a head tracker, so
the camera moves with my head, though this might have to be limited to fixed
wing models, since I don't think I could actually fly the helicopter without a
fixed reference.
RV-3 motivation needs to kick in soon, since
my garage will have a fuselage and finishing kit in it Monday afternoon. I
might get the RED-C re-mounted on the single rotor this weekend, since I'll be
at the airport helping to make some new hoses for an RV-8. Yep, plenty of
distractions...
