I visited one of the Famous shops the last time we raced at Charlotte and they had 40 dyno rooms. One team, for their own engines and leased engines for other teams. You can test a lot of stuff with 40 dyno rooms. The down side is that these people spend more money on wheel polish for their semis and trailers than we spend on aviation combined. My friend down the road is spending in the millions for a two car team, with free engines. Its called a shoe string operation. The poor guy has no personal jet for the team............... He will see these coatings long before I will. The engines are just R&R. none are touched locally. So we can look at the outside, thats all. If a few teams can show an advantage with this process, it may become wide spread enough for us to afford it. Get the tree huggers behind this, and it will be required on everything in two years. Pistons, all bearings, roller lifters, Roller rockers, transmission parts, even wheel bearings to extend mileage. Probably make you redo it every 20,000 miles. Lynn E.
