There is a lively market in Mazda engine conversions for the
experimental market, as seen at the EAA convention. There are superbly
crafted planetary conversions to optimize engine speed and propeller
speed, designed for just that engine. Former Cardinal owner Jack Soules
built a Quickie-2 with half a Mazda engine (he only needed 100 hp) with
Cardinal owner Lou Herman technical advisor on the project.  The company
that does the gearing flies a Mooney with both rotor chambers as a test
bed.  As I recall the hardest part was getting delivery on the prop.
Maybe Lou can expand on this???

Frank Porath Lurking near Zurich, Switzerland, where a C-150 rents for
$125/ hour. (But it's very very clean)
