Welcome, Larry.
Mine's a 93 3rd gen turbo engine with high compression (non turbo) rotors and a T04 turbonetics turbo.
There are plenty of people flying the older engine model successfully, but I think it'll need a good port and care with the inlet / exhaust to make the Cozy take-off run pleasantly short. A bit of boost makes a very big difference to performance.

You can find my build story at http://canardaviation.com/cozy. The plane now has 95 hrs on it and hasn't given me any trouble for the past 40 (unless you count a smog pump that seized and ate my alternator / water pump belt).
Another place to get a mount is the http://www.cozygirrrl.com/

Regards,
John Slade

Hello,

I am currently building a Cozy MK IV and I am planning to rebuild a 1986 Mazda Rotary 13b. I have purchased Tracy Crook's Book and Bruce Turrentine CD and both book and CD have a lot of good information. However, there is still a lot I need to learn which are not discussed in these materials.  In general, I am thinking I will do a street port in order to get the engine to 180 hp. My Question is does anyone have this configuration in a Cozy and am I on the right track?

Note: I have purchased new Rotor Housings and other parts, so my investment is growing.  I thinking I could sell the engine if this is not a good Idea. Also, I could use suggestions as to where to get more information on installation of this engine in an aircraft. Thank you in advance.
