Bob, My master switch controls power to everything  EXCEPT  flight critical systems.  I also had the concern about a switch failing on any of the flight critical systems.  So here is what I did:

1.  I purchased the best (sealed) toggle switches I could buy for the power on - off (these are not the combined Switch/CB that I use for things like lights, heater, etc - ie. non critical.) They were not inexpensive - around $25-30 back in the early 1990s.  I have five of these for EC2, 2 Fuel Pumps and 2 injector disable switches.
2.  I installed a 20 amp pull-type CB that by-passes all switches for the critical systems. In other words should the power switch to my EC2 or fuel pumps suffer a mechanical failure, I can push in this CB and it routes power directly to the critical systems - you can then turn off the toggle  power switches and everything will continue to run. I call this my "live man switch" {:>)
3.  The injectors and ignition coils are wire directly to the main buss through a CB (but no switches - well - actually the injectors do have the disable switches)
4.  I have two 40 amp CB between my battery and main buss each on a separate power cable, the battery has two power cables each with its own CB.  This is what was left over once I went from two batteries to one battery.  So now I have two routes to power through 2 different CBs.  I know a bit anal, but makes me feel better {:>)

If I were to do it over, I would make the following changes

1.  Have a separate power lead and CB for each ignition coil (I have the two stock coils)
2.  Have a separate power lead and CB for each injector pair(I have two pairs)

Hope this helps

Ed

Ed,

Do you run a master switch, or are the Circuit breakers the switch. I have a master switch, but its bothering me that if that ONE switch fails, it all fails. I I think I'll skip the master switch for flight critical.
