I should have specified Helicopter... The Russian VAZ engines where installed in Police Ladas, but VAZ stopped making them. I understand Mistral is on the way to cut a Deal for their 3-rotor and a Helicopter maker in the Ukraine. I was more referring to any "Experimental"-Helicopter-Rotary-Rotorhead. SOme may recall, my latest infamous run-in with PL about *his* photos, taken off *someone else's* motor mounts. These where about a Helicopter (under development) with a rotary. I didn't hear anything yet of this effort coming through, I hope they make it!! TJ PS: It seems it becomes a regular trick to put a turbine into a Rotorway airframe. Off course you guys are right about the gyros!
I should have specified Helicopter...
 
The Russian VAZ engines where installed in Police Ladas, but VAZ stopped making them.

Your wait was over a long time ago.
Many years ago there was a Rotary powered Gyrocopter flying.
I believe the owners name was Jim Mayfield or something like that.
His engine was supplied by Dave Atkins.
I also heard that it accumulated 1000's of hours as it was used for
training.
Anyone have more info on this?
