Please allow me to tell you
all who I am, again...
I started my RV-7 project
about 2 1/2 years ago, and from the beginning I learned of all these options for
powerplants that were never available to me before in the certified world.
I was immediately drawn to the rotary, having owned three RX-7's in the
past. Then I found out that a new (at the time) friend of mine was putting
a Renesis in his RV-7 about 30 miles north of me. His name is Ben
Schneider. I know he's on here from time to time, and he lives near
Pontiac, IL, while I am in Normal, IL. Anyway, I joined this list not too
long after that, and was enthralled with what you all were doing with these
engines. As time went by, I floated around from list to list (everything
from turbines to Subaru's to the 'ol clanky Lycoming), and as I am nearing the
time to order my finish kit (fuselage is about 90% complete), I find myself with
a renewed interest in the rotary, and the news of the forthcoming
16X.
As I said, I've owned three
RX-7's, a 12A, and two 13B's, and I currently have a 13B in my garage that I
completely tore apart to learn more about it. With that, I just wanted to
say hello again. I've met a few of you at the larger fly-ins, and was
impressed with the passion rotorheads have toward their engines and
airplanes.
So, "Hello",
again!
