That's ok, I'm still wearing the rotary grin.  To date I haven't ventured far from the home base.  I've had two problems so far... 1) mis-fire at 6500 & higher, caused by using ferrous metal to fabricat a CAS bracket.  Corrected by fabricating a new bracket out of aluminum, and 2) high oil temps.. the jury is still out on this one.  It appears that I need more cowl exit area.  Stay tuned.  I'm still working on this one. 

 

So, how far is Ellington from Lockhart?  I'm on a 100 mile leash for the first 40.

Thanks, I'll wear my "I love flying my rotary powered airplane" button with pride.  We're in a pretty small club when you stop and think about it.  I can hardly wait for next month's EAA meeting so I can give a report on my first flight.

BTW, I'd like to offer an additional congratulations for the restraint you seem to show towards the first flight.  Perfect conditions, and nothing beyond what you originally planned.  Keep that up, combined with the great job you've done on the build, and you'll have a safe and productive test period.
