Jim,

I have two fiber glas tanks in the wings of my AVID. Have used it since 2000 with no problem. Mogas only. I am not sure, but I belive those are made using polyester C , which was offered in the '90s for fuel tanks. I also made a fuel tank for my Gyro for two stroke mix, using Polyester C . This tank has nnot shown any deterioration after having carried Mogas for more than 12 years.
If I had to make anotherone now, I would use Vinyl esther, which is used for gasoline storage tanks in gas stations. Vinylesther is as easy to work with as with polyester, but is considered compatible with most chemicals.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Fiberglass fuel tanks

Is there anyone in this group who is running Mogas with ethanol exclusively and also has
fiberglass fuel tank(s)?
If anyone fits this profile and their tanks are holding up and not leaking or softening please respond with what type of resin system was used.
I used the Aeropoxy brand epoxy and this did not hold up.
I am looking for an alternative.
Thanks,
Jim
