Yeah,
I bought the whole setup from Buly, and I am installing it in my Cozy Mark-IV. I
should be ready to fly in about 18 months or so now that I got a jump start with
Buly's engine and everything. I am going to start over with a completely new
wiring harness to eliminate any possible problems.
I
picked up the engine and everything except the IVO prop, coils, and oil cooler
which were already sold. His master piece will live on. I had orginally
purchased a core engine to use for the plane, but I found Buly selling his and
couldn't pass it up.
I am
sure I will have plenty of questions for everyone once I get ready to install
the engine and get it running. I may make a test stand/fake firewall to install
and test everything. Keep the engine fresh and make sure things don't rust
up.
If any
one has any thoughts on preserving the engine until it is ready to be
installed I would appreciate any info. The test stand might be a good
option.
I had
another question on the wiring harness. I was thinking about having a quick
connect for the harness at the firewall that is sealed like in most cars these
days. I haven't researched something for aircraft as of yet that would be
similar. I have seen some people just using a termnial block which I am not
really that thrilled with. This looks like a possible problem area in an engine
compartment / exposed to heat and other eliments.
Many
thanks for all the comunications, and all the people that contributed to Buly's
engine progress. Also thanks any future help that I will surely need in
taking it further in my plane.

Didn't hear it from the horses mouth (my bad) but word on the street is
he is going to install a Lycoming. Buly, correct me now if I've gotten
it wrong).
Too bad indeed, he had one of the cleanest looking installations
around. Al G's is about the only one that tops it (based on
pictures only, I never got to see either one).
BTW, How come the best looking ones seem to have the most teething
problems?

Buly's left us too? I've been scanning
over most emails and aware that Buly was getting frustrated, but I didn't
think he was ready to throw in the towel. This is too bad, but I wish him
luck in whatever direction he goes.

I noticed David bought a finished RV-6 and went flying when he
realized that his project was never going to be finished. Good call
David. Don't let anything (including installing a rotary engine) stand
between you and flying. Same goes to Buly.
Blue skys to both.
