My opinion and that of the designer, is that more than 100 hp is not useful in this plane. I don't agree at all that I need a p port larger than 38mm to generate all the power I will ever be able to use. If I get the Hirth gear box, one of the gear ratios available will allow me to red line the p port at 7200 rpm. Cruise will be around 6000 if I am trying to get somewhere and less if I am not. If it jumps off the ground after a 100 foot take roll, I will be happy. As Richard reminded me, it is more a matter of weight than hp.
