Sorry if you receive this more than once, I'm sending it to every e-mail list I belong to and I would like to ask you to do the same. For many years we've wanted to do something special for those who chose to fly to OSH in an automobile powered experimental aircraft (at their own expense) and show it off to those of us who came there to see such things for inspiration. The obvious thing is to give an "award" for the "best". This just doesn't cut it. For one, it creates a sense of division, which we'd like to avoid like the plague. We experimenters are a very small group and the group within the ranks who chose to go with alternative power is even smaller still. We'd rather do something that brings folk together. My good friend William Wynne (noted Corvair guru www.FlyCorvair.com)had this brilliant idea; we will be giving special commemorative ball caps to everyone who arrives at AirVenture 2007 piloting an experimental aircraft powered by an automobile (or motorcycle) engine. Check our website: www.ContactMagazine.com/AirVenture_Hat.html So get your ball cap, wear wit with pride keeping an eye out for others with the same cap. When you find someone, offer your hand in friendship and in congratulations, as you know what difficulties and obstacles he (or she) had to overcome in order to be there. See ya there!!! Pat Editor@ContactMagazine.com Sadly, I don't qualify to wear one of these caps, but one day....
