When I was very young my great aunt took out a life insurance policy on both me and my sister. When my great aunt passed away my Dad took over the payments and when I turned 18 he turned over the payments to me. Over the years the insurance agent would come calling every few years to take the existing policy and roll the cash value into a new and better policy. The last time he came I mentioned that I recently became a pilot. At that point he said that he could no longer sell me insurance and I have not heard from him since. I wonder why? Jim

experimental aircraft? I've always assumed companies put in boiler-plate wording against that sort of thing. Most life insurance policies do have limitations that excluded flying any aircraft, much less experimental ones. You have to make sure you get this all approved up front, rather than hoping it will all work out. Philips offers cheap life insurance, but it has the exclusion, so I don't buy any of it. State Farm can certainly sell you insurance that will cover you, but you will pay a bit more for it. I also agree about the lawsuit thing. My wife knows I wouldn't want her to sue anyone unless there was a very clear reason to do so. Cheers, Rusty (hoping not to use the insurance tomorrow)
