If you find the mods I had done - don't bother. After blowing two stock turbos and one modified one, I can safely say its not a question of IF, its a question of WHEN. I might also mention that one failure mod involves loosing your oil and/or coolant through the turbo housing bearings. Not advisable if you're more than 20 ninutes from a landing site.
Get a T04 with an external wastegate. I installed a Turbonetics T04E-50 big shaft tangential with P trim, wet housing, an aspect ratio of 0.96 and a TiAL Sport 46mm waste-gate. I have almost 50 hours on it with no trouble.
