Yep! Always too hot one place and not hot
enough another. I fly without a thermostat as well and in cold weather the
water heater simply does not get sufficiently hot coolant to be effective.
Have flow with OAT = 12F and toes stayed attached - but, it was not
comfortable.
I've tried a thermostat twice and almost
cooked my engine both times - so I have given up on one. Besides, I can
normally pick when I fly (being retired) and don't go flying when its cruel to
my body.{:>)

Apparently his
heater isn't getting hot enough to keep his feet warm. He's thinking
about putting a thermostat back in. ;)
