Great to hear the good news, Bob. Smart to get "reconditioned" before flying the project you have put some much time and $$ into.
Have a great trip to ND. You can point out to the wife how much quicker you would have made the trip in your airplane, avoided congestion (don't know if that exists in ND), traffic cops, pot- holes, etc.

Subject: [FlyRotary] My Project is now an Airplane!
The DAR came to day and gave me that magic little pink paper that says
my project has a "Special Airworthiness Certificate" so it is officially
an airplane. First flight will still be a while as there is one
component that needs upgrading - the pilot (me) needs a tailwheel
endorsement. I had an instructor lined up, but he lost the use of the
plane he was going to use to instruct me. I now have another
instructor and will work on the taildragger skills until my wife
insists on leaving for a visit to ND.
